4 Hydration Hacks For Your Skin

Hey there, Skinlovers! Taking care of your skin is a difficult feat, especially with the growing number of products and creams in the market. Dull skin cannot always be covered up by a great concealer or some foundation. And the solution isn’t just smacking on a layer of moisturiser on your face. You have to start inside out. Here are four hacks to help you start on your journey to glowing, healthy skin.

1. H2O like there’s no tomorrow

How you take care of your body becomes evident on your skin. Staying hydrated regardless of what weather condition will bring about visible results. Throughout the day, you lose water through sweating, breathing, and excreting waste. Drinking water not only keeps you hydrated as it helps replace the lost fluid and keep you alert and healthy as you go fulfill the day’s tasks. Drinking the recommended amount (eight glasses) of water a day keeps the doctor away as it keeps your body temperature in check, while preventing kidney stone formation and constipation.

 2. Health is wealth

Water is also present in the food you eat! Watermelon is not only packed with water but is also rich in lycopene. Other fruits such as peaches, strawberries, and tomatoes have the same properties and are great add-ons to your daily salad or granola. Fatty fish also keeps your skin hydrated. Salmon, tuna, and trout are rich in omega-3, which helps retain moisture. It is always good to keep in mind that you’re feeding your body vitamins and minerals that will reflect on your skin.

3. Humidifiers galore!

There are different uses for a humidifier but this method is often used to keep the air from getting dry and causing irritation. Retaining moisture in the air may also cause mildew growth so it is important to check its humidity levels and make sure it stays between thirty to fifty percent.

 4. Hot water isn’t going to help

When it comes to skincare, knowing how different techniques and temperatures can save you lots of trouble. If moisturising your skin is the problem, make sure to bathe in lukewarm water. Increasing the temperature of your water can take away your skin’s moisture no matter how relaxing it may feel. After you get out of the shower, lathering your damp skin with lotion keeps it soft and smooth throughout the day. Schedule 2 times within the week where you exfoliate the dead skin cells of your face to help your moisturising cream seep into your skin better. Don’t forget to use your fave serum and complementing face masks before you go to sleep to completely nourish your skin overnight.

Remember, don’t be too harsh on your skin. Your pores can easily be irritated when you scrub too hard in the bath or when you exfoliate your face every day. Know your skin first to get the perfect products that complement your skin.

There you have it, Skinlovers. Keep your skin healthy and glowing even without the makeup no matter what time of day. Loving your skin starts with proper skincare.
